On a cold November night in Stillwater our beloved Oklahoma Sooners eliminated any doubt of team weakness by hanging 44 points on the Oklahoma State Cowboys in the first half! OU went on to claim their ninth Big 12 Title by posting a final score of 58 to 23 in a clearly dominating performance before an ESPN Gameday primetime audience. I must admit that after such a poor showing against the worst Texas team in a decade some seven weeks ago in the Cotton Bowl, I had my doubts about the 2015 Sooners. However, this OU team has consistently improved week by week since and quarterback Baker Mayfield has proven his worthiness for a Heisman Trophy nomination. I also will admit that without Mayfield’s leadership in the second half last week against TCU, the Sooners were more lucky than good but showed their championship character when it mattered with a Defense that stepped up to the call. As Big 12 Champions, OU has earned its #3 ranking and forthcoming playoff berth.
I am grateful that Bedlam happens but once a year and in spite of the fact I do not live in a house divided, a level of normality will return come Monday morning. No hard feelings, right Poke fans?///
